Smash Cake Prices

Smash cake sessions start at £399 for one hour with ten digital images, and go up to £845 for ninety minutes with every image and a short film.

It is the most affordable of my studio sessions, and the messiest.

Yes — ten high resolution files with Mini, forty with Classic, and every one of them with Total.

They are not raw files. Every photograph you receive has been edited by me, one at a time, in the same style you see across this site. That work is part of what you are paying for, not something extra.

Most Classic sessions produce more than forty photographs. When that happens you choose which forty: I put the whole gallery online, you look through it and pick, and I edit the ones you chose.

With Total there is no ceiling: every photograph I put in the gallery is yours, however many that turns out to be.

Three acts, and they always go the same way.

First some photographs of your baby dressed and happy, before anything is destroyed. Then the cake arrives, and there is a pause — most babies stare at it for a full minute before deciding what to do. Then it all happens at once.

We finish with bubbles, in the bath, which cleans the baby and produces some of the best photographs of the day.

This is the first thing to agree when you book, because it depends on allergies and on what you would like it to look like. Tell me when you enquire and I will tell you exactly what I can arrange.

Around the first birthday. A little before is fine — babies who can sit steadily and pick things up are ready — and a little after is fine too.

Book a few weeks ahead if you want the photographs in time for the birthday itself.

Whatever you do not mind losing. I have outfits in the studio if you would rather not sacrifice one of your own, and we talk it through before the day.

Yes, from the Classic package onwards. We usually do the family photographs first, while everyone is still clean.
