Grandparents are everything in our lives. They are our present and our past. They are witnesses of a past which our children know through the stories they tell them. The stories they love to hear. They belong to another generation and there was a time when they were scared by the new ones. Not anymore. They learned to use mobile phones, social media and internet. They give me tips on how to get the most out of it actually! ;)
They have unlimited resources of patience. They never seem to running out of it. They take flights once a month and they forgot that one day they were scared of flying. If this is the only way to see the kids and hug them, they don’t mind.
We spent the summer all together this year. It was our way to say thanks to those 4 people in our live that mean so much to us. We rent a very old Trullo in Apulia and we spent 15 days there travelling around that beautiful region.
We had ice creams, we made and we ate pasta, we swam until the sunset and saw the stars in the sky. We picked fruits from the trees and had them for breakfast, we had lunches on the olive tree and we laughed. Loud.
Happy Grandparents day to all the grandparents out there. You are our present, our past and our children’s future.
