When Elisa announced she was pregnant I was of course over the moon. She is a fellow photographer based in Milan who studied Newborn Photography with me. We met three years ago when she flew to Cambridge for a one to one Newborn Mentoring in my studio and since then we have always been in contact.
She asked me to fly to Milan to photograph both her pregnancy and newborn: I of course said “yes”.
In March Coronavirus arrived and lockdown was imposed and my flight in May was cancelled making her so much wanted maternity session impossible to happen.
Together we came up with the idea of a remote photography session where I photographed her and her husband in Milan from my studio in Cambridge. As crazy as it sounded, we did it and it was probably one of the most amazing challenges I had and therefore one of those achievements who made me fee so good about.
In July her baby Giorgia arrived and I was able to physically be there: this is what we had captured.
Thank you so much again Elisa and Massi for your trust. Thank you for sharing with me this chapter of your life.
And below, my favourite images from our Remote Maternity Session during Lockdown. Head to my Instagram Page of you are curious to see how I captured the images below remotely from my studio in Cambridge.
